Steps of How to Apply Car Window Tint
Step 1 – Find a Clean Space to Apply Tint
Find a clean space to tint your car windows in. Doing it indoors is the best option but you can do it outdoors too if you have a clean, dust-free space. Preventing anything from coming between your tint and your window glass is the most important thing. If you don’t do that, your tint will peel off or have bubbles after you’re done. That’s an ugly and usually costly situation.
Step 2 – Clean The Window Glass Before Application
Start by vacuum cleaning your car’s interior to remove any dust. After that, move on to the windows. Remove any stickers or adhesives that may get caught up between the tint film and window glass. Clean your windows with soapy water. Wipe the glass clean with a 1-inch razor. Wait for the glass to dry before applying the tint.
Avoid Windex or cleaners with ammonia in them. They will dye your tint purple after you’re done. Also make sure to get all the edges and corners. Pull the windows down to get the top too. Use a squeegee to dry the windows before you begin. Close them but leave the car on.
Step 3 – Fitting the Tint Film on the Windows
Spray the window with soapy water to lubricate it so that you can adjust the tint film to wherever you want it. It will also make the tint film adhere slightly to the glass. Leave a bit of extra film on all sides before you cut it off so you can adjust it. Leave a bit of film extra on the other side while you cut the opposite side to size.
Once you’re done cutting, use a heat gun and a hard card to push the bubbles to the bottom as you make the film stick. Squeeze out all the soapy water and bubbles from all sides before you finish.
